Should I call this post Ornament Card... since the Ornament card was featured under Pointsettia Punch! hah!

You see why I don't do this.... I'm challenged!  In lots of areas.... lol
SO...
HERE's the Poinsettia Card, which we made at our Christmas Card Buffet this weekend... it was the biggest hit!

Once again, so much prettier in person... someday when I have extra minutes (not this week!) I'll figure out how to take awesome pictures...
LOVE LOVE this card!
Supplies used from the AWESOME Holiday Catalog:
Festive Flower Builder Punch 139682 $18.00   Page 31
Versatile Christmas (greeting set) Page 26
140389 WOOD $27.00  ON SALE THROUGH OCT 23rd 15% off!
140392 CLEAR  $19.00 ON SALE THROUGH OCT 23rd 15% off!
Home For Christmas Designer Paper (musical notes used here)  Page 9
139592  $11.00

I have a fun trick for making the flower... wouldn't it be GREAT if I could figure out the darn videos...
Try to follow along...
Punch a 1" circle to build your flower on.
Stamp and punch out SIX of the "double" petals (I used Cherry Cobbler)
On the circle, criss cross THREE of these double petals to form a circle of 6
then CUT THE REMAINING THREE into single petals.
Add a touch of Tombow Multi Glue onto the bottom back of each petal, and tuck in between each of the petals already on the circle, between the petals and the circle... Clear as mud?  :)
OH... and then Punch out TWO double petals in Old Olive, cut apart, and tuck in for leaves...
Hey... videos are coming... really.... I'm so close... yeah... define close...

WOO HOO!
ALL STAMP SETS...
I repeat... ALL STAMP SETS...
are on sale through October 23rd!

Pointsettia Punch Christmas Card

Well...
it's been A MONTH...aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
but, I have to look at it this way... still an improvement since I started the blog - it was TWO YEARS between posts... so one month... lookin' pretty good!

Here's a card that the stampers will be making this weekend at my Christmas Card Buffet!  Ladies come and make 12 cards... they choose their favorites, and make multiples of the 3-4 card designs they like the best!  I will be posting their other choices in the next day or two... or month or two... who knows!
ENJOY THIS ONE... AT LEAST IT'S HERE!

Clearly haven't honed those photography skills yet... but.. You can get the idea...
I wanted to use the Embellished Ornaments Stamp Set without the framelits - make this one truly "FAST and Fabulous" ...
So I just stamped the ornament with Bermuda Bay ink on whisper white cardstock which was cut 3 x 3 3/4 - then layered onto 3 1/4 x 4 Bermuda Bay cardstock.  Made the bow with whisper white seam binding. I used our new silver cording from the Holiday Catalog to make the loop, and the fun loops behind the little flower.  Add some of our Bermuda Bay sequins and a few Rhinstones... wahlah! or... wala... or wahla... or walah... you get the idea!
Fun... QUICK card... a great layout for Christmas when you need to make a ton of them!
Online store link is to the right... click on the cute kitty with the shopping cart... contact me if you have any questions!

I'm alive... this isn't me... LOL

No... this isn't me under that building!  I'm the "good witch" !  HAH!
I promise a card is coming in just a few hours... and hopefully, that will be the start of another good run...
if I mess up again... go ahead and drop a store on me!  So much more fun than having a house dropped on you right?
I REALLY want to make a version of this for the front of my house... and I just might still have to do it... I promise to post a picture if I pull it off!  WOO HOO!

Squirrel!

Sometimes... I'll just be posting random silly things...that may or may not have something to do with Stampin'... cuz I'm random... and silly... and as some of you know, I am a confirmed, diagnosed Adult with Attention Deficit Disorder... that explains a lot about me now doesn't it?

"Hey Ma, you know how you keep yelling "squirrel" all the time...I think I found it!"

or... what's really happening here...
"Hey Abby cat - go get your Ma... we're out of peanuts again"

Fast and Fabulous Cards for September!

Well... they are pretty fabulous... Fast... not so much!  LOL...
It's been too long since my last post... so I'm "throwing this out here" for you to see and admire... no directions... no list of supplies I wish you would go purchase from me... lol... but... You are welcome to take a look... and reproduce at home with your stuff!
If things look familiar... well... it's because I probably found something similar and "tweaked" it a bit... and then it became mine!
Really thought the igloo was clever... sorry I don't have the name of who did it first... well... who knows who actually was first...  I used the Brick Embossing Folder, and then the circle thinlits to cut it out, then the large oval punch to cut the "door" -
I brayered Marina Mist right onto the inside of the embossing folder on the side where the "grout edges are sticking up" so that the grout was blue after I ran it through the Big Shot... oh yeah... thought I was being pretty clever with that one!  Now if my darn cat would just let me type...
Pictures of that another day... or go find me on facebook... it's there!
WOO HOO!
Happy late Monday to you all...

New definition for "Tchotchke" and a spelling lesson!

SO... turns out that word I tried to spell yesterday is real...hah!  Thanks to my dear friend Amanda Frankel over at Our Crafty Playdate for sharing the correct spelling!  It's a weird one, isn't it?  Turns out it's Yiddish... where my family got this word and started using it on a regular basis I'll never know... but that spelling is tricky!
So...try singing it to the tune of "Oh Christmas Tree"... (which is a tad ironic, I'm not sure anyone Yiddish would even have a Christmas tree right?  I mean... I dunno... maybe they do, but that's a lesson for another day)
"OH... TCH O TCH KE blah blah blah blah blah' ....you ARE singing right?   Hey... THIS is how my brain works... what can I say?
Now... we'll need to add another definition...one for our crafting world... because if you look it up.. it's supposed to be a "small decorative object" or "trinket"... I guess that's pretty close to "an embellishment on a papercrafting project"... right?  So... take note of the cute tchotchkes on yesterdays project post!  Happy Wednesday folks!  Go stamp something fun!

Halloween 12 x 12 Sampler!

Well... it's finally ready... with 23 hours to spare!  LOL
I decided to go "traditional" and used the color palette of the NEW Designer Series Paper called Happy Haunting  -  Basic Black, Tangelo Twist and Very Vanilla  - I used several of the images from the Hawl-o-ween Treat Stamp Set and Boo to You Framelits Bundle Love love all the bundles in this Holiday Catalog!

Drum Roll....

I also decided since I was limiting the color combo,  I needed something to make it "pop" !  So I used lots of Black Heat embossing, and some fun NEW Black Glimmer Paper , along with our Gold Glimmer Paper for some fun bling! Pictures don't really show the awesomeness...

Here are a couple close ups:

When I get really smart, I'll have one of those cool carousel things where you can see all the products I used... I think it even links to my store!  I'm sure you clever stampers have seen those on the "cool" demo blogs... LOL... I'm a work in progress... Heck ... I'm 60... I think I'm always going to be a work in progress... WOO HOO!
In the meantime... Just contact me at glendastamps@comcast.net if you'd like info on how and what to order... Kits for this project are pretty impossible, as I'm not allowed to pre-stamp images... Kind of limits what would be in the kit.. Perhaps I need to consider a PDF tutorial option... People have been asking... oh dear... I'm sure getting in over this old head!

Basic instructions are the same for each month - the background is a 12 x 12 piece of cardstock, then an 8 1/2" square layer, then an 8 1/8" square layer.  The nine squares are 2 1/4" squares, then usually layered with a 2" square - sometimes that layer is designer paper - then comes the fun "chotchky" things... how do you spell chochky?  chotchkey?  Yeah... good luck with that one... I think someone made it up... who cares how you spell it, you don't need to know how to spell to stamp... isn't that a good thing?
Thanks for stopping in!  Truly hoping to get more consistent with the posting here...

and then... .there's those VIDEOS I plan to make...
Check out "this thing"
Any guesses what this is?  Abby's hoping its a new cat toy!  Hah!
Stay tuned... it's gonna happen folks... and you won't want to miss the first one!

September 12 x 12 Sampler - Framed Art

Still a learning curve... I typed this up and thought I scheduled it for Saturday or Sunday... I think I forgot to hit the "publish" button... oh well!

These 12 x 12 Samplers are one of my most popular classes!  Basically you purchase one frame, find a great place in your home or office to display... and each month you come and stamp a new Sampler to switch out and display at home!
Here is what we made this month to display in September:

The project is 12 x 12 - background is Garden Green, then there's an 8 1/2" square of Delightful Dijon, then the 8 1/8" square of Very Vanilla. Each of the 9 squares are 2 1/4" bases, here I used Real Red and Garden Green, then there is a 2" layer of either Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla or Garden Green.  And then... comes the fun embellishments!  We use lots of punch art, making 9 squares that keep with the monthly theme - Last year's September Sampler had a touch of "Back to School" (see previous post here somewhere... not hard to find, there's only 4 total... hah!)

You can see we use lots of punches when we make these samplers, which is why it's a great class to attend... it would be $100's of dollars to purchase all the punches you need for a project like this....

My cute scarecrow was everyone's favorite square this month!  We used the biggest oval punch for his hat and head, Heart Border punch for cheeks, 7/8" scallop for "shirt collar" , Tree Builder punch for the little bird on his hat (we free hand cut the longer beak to look like a crow) , The Fringe Scissors worked great to make the hair... and those "eyeballs"... Too cool!  It's white circles punched with the Owl Punch, then we colored the largest pearl with a black Sharpie!  Stitches on his scrap nose and his mouth were freehanded with a Basic Black Marker -   I love how he turned out...

I've gotten lots of requests in the past for me to offer these Samplers as Kits in the Mail ... I've posted many samples on my Facebook Page  go take a look!  .... Let's get some comments and see if there's enough interest in "Kits in the Mail"     FYI-  We're not allowed to sell stamped images, so the kit would include the punch pieces, squares, etc ... everything BUT the stamped images.

WOO HOO!  I did it... another blog post!  Maybe this is really gonna happen!  It's kinda fun... but I'm a bit chatty... you should have seen how much I typed... and deleted.... LOL

August Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop

Welcome!  I'm so excited... this is my first "blog hop"!  This month we are featuring our "Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek"... and lots of talented stampers are involved, so enjoy!

You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog - Glenda Travelstead, Stand Up Stamper,  or perhaps you're dropping in from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below my project will help you move along from blog to blog so you won't miss a project.

I've decided to start with a fun fall Stamp Set,  Lighthearted Leaves, Item # 139712 - it's a Photopolymer stamp set, 10 stamps for $26.00 - Of course you will also want the coordinating Leaflets Framelits set from the "Big Book" - Item #138283 $25.00 Cuts 6 different leaf shapes!
Let's start easy...

I love the simplicity of this layout - And just two colors, Very Vanilla and Tip Top Taupe.  We have the standard card base, 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 and folded to be the 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card.  Tip Top Taupe layer is a 3" square, then a 2 3/4" square of Very Vanilla - notice the detail!  I've run the Vanilla square through the Big Shot with our NEW Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing folder (#139673 $8.50)  I've stamped the leave with Tip Top Taupe Ink onto Tip Top Taupe Cardstock, then cut with the coordinating Framelit. I crumpled it a bit, attached with Stampin' Dimensionals  Add the greeting which is included in the Lighthearted Leaves stamp set... and you are done!    Too easy?
Then this next one is for you!

Love this card!  I came across a similar card somewhere, probably on Pinterest... and just adapted it to our Stampin' Up! Products!  I used the stamp stamp set, framelits and embossing folder...
TO MAKE THE "FUNKY PUMPKIN" - You start with a 4 1/2 x 4 inch piece of Pumpkin Pie Cardstock, Run through Big Shot with the Woodland Embossing Folder, Round 4 corners, then CUT INTO 1" strips - SPONGE all edges with Cajun Craze Ink, Round each strip a bit with your bone folder, then attach with Stampin' Dimensionals - You can "free hand cut" your stem, or if that's an issue for you :)  I used the Bow Builder punch and cut the main piece in half on an angle... walah!  A stem... Leaves are stamped with Delightful Dijon, Cajun Craze and Old Olive on coordinating cardstock and cut with Leaflet Framelits.  Greeting is from another new stamp set "A Little Something" and comes wood mount #139827 for $23.00 or Clear mount rubber #139830 for $17.00 includes 9 fun stamps, it's featured on Page 41 of the NEW Holiday Catalog!  Contact me if you need a copy!

I hope you enjoyed my two projects... remember I'm a "rookie blogger" ... so be patient with me... nothing like using the "sink or swim" theory here and just jumping into this pool with a BLOG HOP... woo hoo!
Remember, you're at Glenda Travelstead's blog, so just click the next name on the list here to continue the hop.... LOTS of talented stampers with lots to share today!

IT doesn't make the cards, YOU make the cards... the kit just does all the hard parts for you... geez I'm such a card!  Oh wait... maybe that's why Amanda Frankel suggested the blog name... Stand Up Stamper!  hah! Has nothing to do with standing up... lol

and I'm just getting started on this blog thing folks... wait til I figure out VIDEOS!

Back to the card... if you're wondering about the designer paper... wonder no more!  It's our new2015 - 2017 In Color ENVELOPE paper # 138312 TWENTY SHEETS... only $6.00... it's lighter weight, especially for envelopes... but since it's 12 x 12, you always have leftover pieces - perfect for strips like this on a card!  I used TIP TOP TAUPE - it's pretty in all of the colors... and probably would have photograghed better in Watermelon Wonder... or Cucumber Crush... but I swapped all those at convention...

Oops... forgot a title... LOL whatever... I'm learning!

Because, if I figure it out, I just may be involved in a blog hop... hah!  Let's see...  It's a process... WOO HOO! SO... I should probably try to post a project picture... this is last year's September Sampler... kinda cute huh?  Photography isn't my strong suit as you can see... heck, I'm 60 years old... still trying to find my strong suit!
