This was my July Sampler class project! It's a 12 x 12 Sampler to be displayed in August! 12 x 12 Samplers are quite popular these days and admittedly I did not come up with the concept, not sure where the original one was posted! I have been holding these classes almost 3 years now, designing my own squares, and every month they are full! I am proud of my personal designs, and get lots of compliments on them! I'm especially thrilled when another demonstrator chooses to comment and share... most are respectful and give me credit as the designer, which I always try to do when I share a friend's design! I LOVE searching Pinterest for inspiration, especially for my card designs. Often I use a card I find as inspiration, and "tweak a bit" to make my own - I still say "found something on Pinterest that inspired me to make this card" - I don't always remember exactly what I saw, who it was, but if you ever see anything on my blog here that you "feel is yours" please let me know and I'll back track and give you credit... WOO HOO
Here are some close ups, in case you want to "try this at home" LOL
Row one - Fun Ice Cream Bar, Beach Umbrella and Beach Bag! I used the new Fiesta Designer Paper.
Flip flops! - I "free handed" these, Sunshine and Lemonade - used the new "Mixed Drinks" stamp set, Item #141928 27 photopolymer stamps $21.00 you will find this in your hymnal, I mean catalog, on page 153! LOVE IT!
It's not summer without watermelon (well my nephew Patrick would beg to differ with you!), then camping... cute camper from the "You're Sublime" stamp set Item #138732 $27.00 for wood blocks, #139309 $19.00 for Cling stamps (red rubber, but uses size D clear block) and ... a fun sherbet cone!
Thanks for looking... I really need to get better at posting - I find my stuff on other blogs and facebook pages and videos... but not my own... HAHAHA! WOO HOO!

ReplyDeleteI miss you too.... you need a "field trip".. wooo hooooo!
DeleteSo much fun and love in your sampler! You do excellent work - so creative and cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Carolyn - and thanks for posting on another blog, I appreciate you "looking after my interests" - apparently it was just a misunderstanding and she clarifies on the next video she made... It just caught me by surprise, as I didn't realize she was even going to make a video... perhaps I missed it when she asked, I was talking to lots of people that evening!
DeleteGlenda, you handled this with grace. Your work is always top notch! I didn't like making cards until I met you. Now, I now thoroughly enjoy and love the framed art work, as well. I haven't been very creative on my own for some time, now. I'm glad that others enjoy and admire your creativity but, It saddens me when they leave out where the credit is due.
ReplyDeleteAll is okay, I'm chalking it up to a big misunderstanding, if you watch her second video, she clarifies that the designs were mine. I feel a little silly now, she went a tad overboard, but all is well!
